Parents and boys who want to find out what Scouting is about, come join us at our “School Night” on Thursday, August 5 at 7pm in the MES Cafeteria.

To see the joy on my son’s face when doing things together and when he thanks me for doing these things with him is priceless. 2010 – 2011 Class Lists Have Been Posted

Class Lists for the 2010 – 2011 School Year have been posted on the MES Library wall. The A+ Grade lists and Kindergarten Assessment / Orientation Schedule have also been posted.

First day of school for students Grades 1 – 6 is Monday, August 2, 2010 at 7:55 a.m.

The MES Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2010. Time to be determined.

Meal Time Card Deposits Being Accepted July 26-30!

The Moanalua Elementary School Office will be accepting deposits for the 2010-2011 Meal Time Cards from July 26-July 30. Office hours are 7:30am – 4:00pm daily.

Students use Meal Time Cards to purchase breakfast, juice and lunch from the MES Cafeteria. (Checks should be made payable to Moanalua Elementary School.)

School meal prices are as follows:

Breakfast	$ .95
Lunch	$2.20
Juice	$ .30
Milk Only	$ .50
Reduced Meal-Breakfast	$ .30
Reduced Meal-Lunch	$ .40
Bottled Water (mid-morning recess only)	$ .50

Information for Incoming Kindergarten Parents

Dear Parents:
Welcome to Moanalua Elementary School Kindergarten! We look forward to working with you and your child during the coming school year.*

We will be meeting with PARENTS ONLY on first day for students at 8:30 AM. Please report to the Cafetorium for an orientation meeting with our school principal. This is a very important meeting so please be sure to attend.

Kindergarten class list, indicating each kindergartner’s room number, assessment and orientation group, and a copy of the assessment/orientation schedule, will be posted on the wall of the school library on Saturday before the first day for students.

On your child’s testing day, please have him/her bring the school supplies in a large sack labeled with his/her name and room number. Please be sure to label each item with permanent markers. (This includes each crayon, marker and pencil.)

On your child’s assessment day, please take him/her to Room K2 for check in at assigned time, then pick him/her up there immediately after the screening period.

Other information will be given to you at this time regarding school policies and procedures. Please be sure to keep it handy for reference through out the school year.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Day Mahalo!

To all of our MES PTO families, students, and friends:

With the help of many volunteer parents, this year’s Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day was a great success! Our MES PTO families and friends treated our teachers and staff to a huge buffet lunch, dessert bar, and afternoon relaxation therapies that included massage and Healing Touch. We would like to thank all of the many volunteers that helped to receive incoming food donations, as well as set up for the potluck lunch, pack up leftover food, and help us clean up afterwards. Awesome job! Thank you so much for your time and hard work!
