GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
MEETING

May 14, 2008

CALL TO ORDER: President
Lori Shimoda called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM in the MES Courtyard.

VOTING MEMBERS PRESENT:
A quorum of 30 PTA members was present.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: The
minutes of the March 12, 2008 General Membership meeting was distributed and approved as submitted.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Treasurer Ernest Ramiscal submitted the MES PTA Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Report, General Ledger as of 4/30/2008. He also submitted the Budget Proposal for School Year 2008 – 2009 with changes to Arts
and Culture, Big Island Trip and Leadership Camp. Reports and Budget were approved as submitted. He also asked for all receipts to be submitted.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
President Lori Shimoda thanked those involved with PTA events and thanked outgoing board members.

NEW BUSINESS:

Moanalua Lions, Steven Onoue presented an award to MES student, Mike Inouye for his entry which was recognized during the state level judging of “Sight is Beautiful” Poster Contest.

Nominations for SY 2008-2010:
Nominations of new board members (President, Lori Shimoda; Vice President,Toby Hirashima; Vice President, Mary Ann Reed; Treasurer, Robb Taone; Secretary, Lei Fukumura) were announced and approved by the membership.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The next PTA Board Meeting will be on June 4, 2008 in the Library.

ADJOURNMENT: President
Lori Shimoda adjourned the meeting at 5:45 PM. The meeting was followed by the Starlight Concert.
